The Story

Step inside The Big House, where the Allman Brothers Band lived, wrote, and shaped a sound that would define a generation. From 1970 to 1973, the 18-room home was shared by original band members, their families, and close friends. It’s where Dickey Betts penned “Blue Sky” in the living room and “Ramblin’ Man” in the kitchen—moments now preserved for fans to experience firsthand.

Renovated in 2009, The Big House Museum holds the world’s largest collection of Allman Brothers memorabilia and features a gift shop (on-site and online)with items any fan will love. The museum also inspires the next generation through school and camp field trips and doubles as one of Macon’s most distinctive event venues. Whether you’re planning a visit or booking a special event, The Big House offers an unforgettable look into Macon’s musical soul, rooted in history, creativity, and Southern rock legacy.
