The Story

The Museum of Arts and Sciences delivers a new adventure with every visit. Inside the three-level Discovery House, guests jump into hands-on art and science, meet animals from around the world in the Mini-Zoo, and dig through recreated fossils beneath a towering prehistoric whale. The Mark Smith Planetarium offers daily star shows, and the Sweet Gum Trail leads past outdoor sculptures, gardens, a bat cave, and the Raptor Retreat. Four rotating galleries keep the experience fresh with seasonal art and science exhibits.

What began as a single room beneath the Wesleyan Conservatory in 1956 has grown into a 55,000-square-foot learning destination across 16 acres. Today, Macon’s Museum of Arts and Sciences blends creativity and curiosity, offering programs and exhibits that inspire every age. When you’re ready for hands-on discovery close to home, the Museum of Arts and Sciences is ready to welcome you.
