The Story

Howie’s Micheladas is rooted in a sense of community shaped by family, service, and consistency. Growing up in a large household, Howie understood how food and drink bring people together, an idea that carried through more than 15 years behind the bar. While working at Bakersfi eld’s Mint, he refi ned his Michelada recipe through repetition and adjustment. After earning first place at the 2018 Michelada Festival, that became the foundation for a business built on balance and reliability. What began during the pandemic as a way to make ends meet, bottling mixes and selling at local farmers markets, quickly found an audience. Howie expanded to include Agua Frescas, house-made Chamoy rim paste, and handcrafted Chamoy candies, each refl ecting the same hands-on approach. Today, Howie’s Micheladas supplies events, offers mobile bartending, and is stocked in over 100 stores, continuing to grow through steady demand and strong local support across the region.
