Since its founding in 1994, Walton Options has championed disability empowerment and inclusion across the region. Serving 16 counties in Georgia and 10 in South Carolina, this private, nonprofit resource center for independent living is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities build independence through advocacy, resources, and community support.
Guided by the principle “Nothing about us without us,” Walton Options ensures its work reflects the lived experiences of the people it serves. More than half of its staff members have significant disabilities, reinforcing a culture rooted in representation, self-advocacy, and opportunity. Through community engagement, public forums, planned events, and collaboration with local and state partners, the organization challenges stereotypes and promotes equal access in housing, employment, community, education, and daily life. Walton Options continues to advance a future where individuals of all abilities are respected, supported, and empowered to live independently.
