Now under the ownership of Rafael Gonzalez, the longtime favorite is stepping into a new chapter without losing the character that made it iconic.
Rafael’s story with The Boll Weevil began 15 years ago as a host. From there, he worked nearly every position in the restaurant, from serving to baking to mastering the kitchen, perfecting the beloved honey wheat bread along the way. Today, his creativity shows up in additions like Ahi Tuna Nachos, Pot Roast, and more. While dessert remains central, the drink program now includes more than 60 craft beers, rotating drafts, and curated flight nights, bringing new energy to the gathering place. Regulars still come for the cake, but many stay for the evolving menu and welcoming spirit that has defined The Boll Weevil for years.
