The Story

Art on Broad has spent more than 23 years adding a sense of wonder to Downtown Augusta, building a gallery where imagination is encouraged and curiosity is rewarded. Founded by Jim Tar and Kristin Varn, and now guided by Kristin alongside her sister, Catherine Alexander, the space celebrates art that doesn’t sit still—work that twists, surprises and invites closer inspection. The result is a gallery that feels playful without losing its depth, welcoming seasoned collectors and casual browsers alike.

Inside, color and texture take center stage. Blown and stained glass glimmers overhead, while walls and shelves reveal modern abstracts, dreamy landscapes, folk art, pottery, mosaics, woodwork and handcrafted jewelry.
