The Story

What started as a summer side gig quickly turned into something bigger for Jennifer Mayo. After moving to Fernandina in 2020, the former ESE teacher set out to build something of her own, starting with a hot dog cart, creativity, and a love for feeding people. What began as a simple setup has grown into a full-time passion, shaped by her hands-on approach and a willingness to have fun with every idea she brings to the menu. At Hot Dog House, the focus is simple: bold flavor and quality ingredients. Jumbo all-beef dogs are steamed in a signature sauce, split, and finished on the fl at top, with favorites like The Kong, Murray, and Bully. The menu includes house-made pulled pork, burgers, sausages, and rotating creations that reflect her playful style. That energy carries into the community, where Hot Dog House has built strong local ties while earning Best of Florida 2023–2025 and being named the number one hot dog in the state by Tasting Table twice. As it grows, the heart behind it stays the same: great food, real connection, and a love for what she does every day.
