Swim Macon was founded as Middle Georgia Aquatics
in 1982 by Dr. Lee Stockslager, and is now an established
501c3 nonprofit youth sports organization that specializes
in competitive aquatics, swim instruction and life guarding.
Swim Macon offers seasonal learn-to-swim classes, weekly lap
swims, masters programs and year-round pre-competitive and
competitive instruction. The Swim Macon coaching staff is intuitive
and flexible to the needs of every athlete. The program believes that success is a byproduct of a supportive environment, a positive self-image, discipline and commitment.
Swim Macon is committed to helping each athlete realize his or her potential by supporting
their efforts in an encouraging manner; both in and beyond the confines of the pool.
Swim Macon strives to instill an understanding of, and appreciation for, such concepts as high
self-confidence, personal accountability, self-discipline, goal setting and goal achievement.
Although not every swimmer will be an Olympian, all can learn, internalize and live the
Olympic ideals of vision, focus, persistence, commitment and discipline. Swim Macon
strives to offer a positive and encouraging youth sports experience in the community
with a program that is inclusive, fun and accountability-based for people ages four and up.
