Lose yourself in the history of Georgia’s rich sports tradition
at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame—the nation’s largest state
sports museum. Located Downtown, the 43,000 square foot
state-of-the-art museum houses over 3,000 artifacts. Old-style
ticket booths in the rotunda invite visitors to experience the
history of sports in Georgia with more than 14,000 square
feet of interactive exhibit space and the Hall of Fame corridor
that honors over 400 inductees. Be sure to catch the short
inspirational film featuring Hall of Fame athletes.
The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame makes a difference in the lives of Macon's youth and
honors the struggle, perseverance and achievement of Georgia's best teams, athletes,
and coaches. Its mission is to celebrate outstanding athletic accomplishments of
Georgians and to inspire Georgia's youth to excellence.
Annual special events, including FanFest in late February, provide visitors and locals with
a meaningful, inspirational experience. Visitors can enjoy the basketball court, NASCAR
simulator and interactive sports games. And the museum serves as an excellent rental
space for private events. Follow them on social media to keep up with special holiday
events, kid’s movies and free admission days.
