After losing their Idaho home in a house fire, Janette
and Parker Fife moved to Macon in January of 2020.
They were tired of Idaho winters, and they wanted to
start a life somewhere warmer. She loved business.
He loved peaches. And they both loved Georgia.
Homestead Bakery and Coffee is their first business
venture together, and so far, it’s going well… really, very well.
For Parker’s WHOLE life, he has loved baking. Even as a ten-year-old, he had his
own recipe books and dreamed of working in a kitchen. Because he has a science
background in chemistry, all things baking are simply like an experiment to him.
While Parker is a self-taught baker, he is not intimidated by the laminated doughs
required for the French pastries he makes, including croissant, danish and bearclaw.
These doughs require intensive techniques, and Parker has mastered them all.
Janette loves the coffee side of the business, and she’s mastered the details of coffee
and pastry pairing. Janette loves experimenting and coming up with new drinks.
Take all these factors together and roll them up into a ball of pastry, and what you get
is a fun, interactive experience.
