The Story

Burke Mansion carries the kind of charm that only time can create. Built in 1887 and later refined by architect Neel Reid, this grand home remains one of Macon’s most treasured landmarks. Today it welcomes guests as an elegant bed and breakfast where history feels alive and comfort comes easy.

Owner Dr. Fady Wanna and manager Paul Griffin have preserved its beauty with care—thirteen foot ceilings, rich millwork, and 27 stained glass windows that scatter color through every room. The mansion’s graceful spaces invite long conversations, quiet reading, and evenings spent on the wraparound porch with a cocktail in hand. Each morning begins with a gourmet breakfast made from local ingredients, a reflection of genuine Southern hospitality.

Close to Mercer University, Atrium Health, and downtown events, Burke Mansion offers a timeless stay steeped in Macon’s story.
