Growing up in rural Central California, Antonette’s family shared a cherished Christmas Eve tradition—the magic of Aunt Mae’s rich, creamy toffee. Known as “Aunt Mae” to the community, Antonette’s mother lovingly created batch after batch of toffee that became a local favorite.
That beloved tradition continues today with Antonette and her son, Gary, who is also a partner in the business and carries on the legacy of his grandmother, Aunt Mae. Since opening Aunt Mae’s Sweet Tooth in 2020, they have expanded their selection to include creamy fudge, decadent caramels, indulgent caramel apples, and many other homemade delights. In addition to their handcrafted sweets, Aunt Mae’s also offers a beautiful assortment of fine gifts.
For five wonderful years, Bakersfield has embraced Aunt Mae’s Sweet Tooth, and they couldn’t be more grateful for the support. Each batch of their signature toffee is still made by hand, using only the freshest ingredients sourced from local farms and dairies.
