The “Fred Sanford” of Augusta… At Mema Had One,
you’ll find 4,200 sq. ft., three floors and yards full of
vintage collectibles, used furniture, retro decor, rusty
gold and archi-salvage at affordable prices! With the
help of 20+ dealers, Mema Had One prides itself on
offering the unique and obscure… the casual and fun.
Their mantra is “peace, love and junk.” Mema Had One embraces the integrity and quality
of the past, while also honoring its simple, and sometimes primitive, ways.
What’s in a name? “Mema” was the term of endearment for co-owner, Pam Hayes’
grandmother. The next time you’re strolling around the shop and spot an interesting old
object, chances are, your Mema had one too! Pam started collecting at age 14 and after
20 years had a collection big enough to open a store! As a family business, co-owner,
Candice Lee is now on the road operating “Mema’s Transit”, an industrial courier expediting
service while her mother, “Miss Pam” runs the store weekends.
April 6, 2022, would have been Ruby “Mema” Walden’s 100th Birthday. Pam and Candice
are grateful to the community, visitors and friends for their support and can think of no
better way to honor her memory than this… Mema Had One… hundred!
