When Milledge and Joanne Peterson grew weary
of living the corporate lifestyle, they realized that
a life lived among the cubicles was not for them.
On a visit back home to Augusta, the burgeoning
gardeners heard that Bedford might be for sale.
They leveraged everything they had, bought the
place, and haven’t had an ounce of regret. Their
mission is to take friends, family and strangers, turn them into gardeners, and, in
doing so, improve everyone’s quality of life.
At Bedford Greenhouses, the team’s goal is to grow everyone’s passion for gardening.
The majority of the annual and perennial plants as well as herbs and veggies they sell
are homegrown at their sprawling nurseries. You’ll find an array of plants, the likes
of which you may have never seen before. For the experienced gardener, it’s like a
giant playground. For the novice, it’s a wonderland of things waiting to be discovered.
Something is always fresh and growing inside their tiny little bubble worlds. They
