ince its establishment in 1994, Walton Options has been a steadfast advocate for disability empowerment and inclusion. Serving 16 counties in Georgia and 10 in South Carolina, this private, non-profit, non-residential Center for Independent Living (CIL) is dedicated to fostering independence for individuals with disabilities through advocacy and resources.
Walton Options goes beyond traditional social services, exemplifying inclusivity and commitment in every initiative. Guided by the mantra "Nothing about us without us," the organization ensures that its efforts are deeply rooted in the experiences of people with disabilities. Over half of Walton Options’ staff have significant disabilities, embodying the principles of diversity, opportunity, self-empowerment, and self-advocacy they champion. With a mission to celebrate diversity, create opportunities, and respect individual’s aspirations, Walton Options actively participates in community programs, government initiatives, forums, and events. Their work challenges stereotypes and raises awareness that individuals with disabilities are essential members of the community, deserving equal respect and opportunities.
Walton Options continues to inspire positive change, advocating for a future where every person, regardless of ability, can live independently and thrive.
