Tire City Potters. Owned by artist Shishir Chokshi,
Tire City Potters was established in 2001, and has
become a choice destination for seasonal pottery items, classes and events, such as
Forever Pumpkins, TCP Throwing Experience, and Mug Workshop.
The Tire City gallery displays some of the finest hand-thrown pottery in the Augusta
area. A seasoned potter, Shishir creates eclectic pieces that are not only stand-alone
works of art, but that are functional, too. From bowls and mugs, to tap handles and
pinch pots, Tire City is the perfect place to find one-of-a-kind gifts and household
items. Tire City operates with a team of apprentices who learn as they produce work;
one-of-a-kind pieces are crafted and fired on the premises. Tire City welcomes the
public to kiln openings and special product launches, and it is an ideal space for group
parties and events—kids absolutely love learning to throw pots for their birthdays.
