When restlessness strikes, the outdoors often holds the answer. In 2012, Savannah Rapids Kayak Rental (SRKR) started with a tent in Savannah Rapids Park, offering kayaks for rent. Over time, paddleboards, canoes, and storage for over 90 kayaks were added, expanding the possibilities for outdoor adventure. The CSRA is home to some of the most stunning waterways, and SRKR is proud to be part of the Serene 18 Paddle Trail. Whether you’re seeking a tranquil escape or a more challenging adventure, SRKR offers options that include paddling along the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area, the Savannah River, and to the scenic Stallings Island. Group and guided paddles, as well as sunset and full moon paddles, add a special touch to your experience. Many businesses use these activities for unique team-building opportunities.
In addition to kayaking, The Bicycle Peddler offers bike rentals, repairs, and sales—including electric bikes—on the lower level of the Mill House.
SRKR’s second location, Keg Creek Watersports at Clarks Hill Lake, has expanded to offer even more outdoor fun with rentals of kayaks, paddleboards, jet skis, and pontoon boats. Family-owned by Steve and Leslie Wright, both retired teachers, and their daughter Katie, SRKR is passionate about sharing the beauty of the CSRA’s natural areas with others.
