When you feel restless, sometimes it helps to go
to nature. In 2012, Savannah Rapids Kayak Rental
began renting from a tent inside Savannah Rapids
Park. Paddleboards, canoes, and storage for 90+
kayaks were later added.
Some of the crown jewels of the CSRA are its
waterways, and SRKR is proud to be part of
the Serene 18 Paddle Trail. SRKR has paddle options as well as scenic bike trails:
Augusta Canal National Heritage Area, Savannah River, and Stallings Island. What’s
offered can be as relaxing or as challenging as you want. Also offered are group and
guided paddles, as well as sunset and full moon paddles. Many organizations use the
kayaking or biking experience for team building.
The Bicycle Peddler—up on the hill on the lower level of the Mill House—added bike
rentals, repairs, and sales (including electric bikes). A second location was opened at
Keg Creek Watersports, which offers kayak, paddleboard, jet ski and pontoon boat
rentals at Clarks Hill Lake.
The Wrights were raised on the area waterways. Steve and Leslie are retired
teachers, and daughter, Katie, is co-owner. They desire to share their love of the
CSRA’s natural areas.
