If you’re interested in art as a patron or as a student,
there are few places to find classes and performances
that rival the Jessye Norman School of The Arts
(JNSA). Cloaked in a pervasive and welcoming sense
of community, JNSA is a vibrant, active art center. It’s
an organization staffed by a group of people deeply
committed to improving the quality of life for residents
and visitors alike, through the transformative power of
the arts.
The school was originally founded with help from internationally renowned opera
singer and Augusta native, Jessye Norman. The five-time Grammy award-winning
artist passed away in 2019, but her legacy continues by inspiring students of all
ages to seek achievement and excellence in themselves through artistic expression.
The curriculum and outreach extend far beyond the walls of the 18,000-square-foot
main campus building. Outreach classes, camps, and performances can be found
throughout the area in partnership with many other organizations. From dance to
weaving, virtually every artistic pursuit is represented. Join JNSA to discover the
spark for your transformation through the arts. Visit the website for contact
information, class listings, and upcoming events.
