After relocating to Evans from Illinois in 2016, Heather Needles and daughter Ali Kocher, co-owners of Rooted Coffeehouse, were eager to plant roots in their new community. “In Illinois, we did a lot of life in locally-owned coffee shops. It’s where we connected with our people. Many of life’s joys and sorrows have been shared with a coffee in hand and tucked around a table at our favorite local shops,” says Heather. “In Evans, we were looking for a way to personally connect and offer a place for others to foster relationships in this ever-growing and diverse community. The impetus for Rooted Coffeehouse was a desire to deliver a quality product while providing a comfortable space for community, fellowship, and connection.” The shop's name, inspired by the founders' transitional season of putting down "roots" in Evans, serves as a reminder to stay "rooted" in Christ, providing a firm foundation in all of life’s seasons.
Rooted Coffeehouse, founded in 2018 at the Market at Riverwood, opened a second location in Spring of 2023 at Evans Towne Center, and opened a third location in Spring of 2024 at West Lake Commons. Rooted also offers a mobile coffee cart for events and weddings.
