After relocating to Evans from Illinois in 2016,
Heather Needles and daughter Ali Kocher, coowners of Rooted Coffeehouse, were eager to plant
roots in their new community. “In Illinois, we did a
lot of life in locally-owned coffee shops. It’s where
we connected with our people. Many of life’s joys
and sorrows have been shared with a coffee in hand and tucked around a table
at our favorite local shops,” says Heather. “In Evans, we were looking for a way
to personally connect and offer a place for others to foster relationships in this
ever-growing and diverse community. The impetus for Rooted Coffeehouse was
a desire to deliver a quality product while providing a comfortable space for
community, fellowship, and connection.” The shop’s name, inspired by the
founders’ transitional season of putting down “roots” in Evans, serves as a
reminder to stay “rooted” in Christ, providing a firm foundation in all life seasons.
Rooted Coffeehouse, founded in 2018 at the Market at Riverwood, opened
a second location in 2023 near Evans Towne Center Park, and a third location
at West Lake Commons is set to
open in early Spring 2024. Rooted
also offers a mobile coffee cart for
events, and monthly subscription
boxes with curated Rooted favorites.
