For those rare individuals who don’t like chocolate (just kidding!), La Bonbonnière is the ultimate destination.
Since opening in 2005, BeBette Smith has cultivated a loyal following that continues to grow. Located at 231 Fury’s Ferry Road, she has relocated twice within the same center to accommodate demand—proof that Augusta’s love for fine chocolates is alive and well.
A former elementary school teacher for 20 years, BeBette saw a gap in Augusta’s culinary scene: a true chocolatier. And so, La Bonbonnière was born.
As BeBette explains, a chocolatier doesn’t make chocolate from scratch but transforms it into something extraordinary. She imports Belgian chocolate in 22-pound bags and crafts an array of indulgences—silky ganaches, luscious caramel-filled chocolates, dark and milk varieties, and seasonal specialties. The common thread? Pure, decadent chocolate.
“La Bonbonnière is a destination store,” BeBette says. “My customers seek us out because they know this is the place in Augusta for fine chocolates. Many have traveled the world and return home craving the flavors they discovered abroad.”
