The Boll Weevil Café and Sweetery is a cozy
café known for its eclectic menu of more than
30 spectacular desserts, homemade soups,
and southern-inspired appetizers and entrees.
The Boll Weevil offers an array of regional and
southern dishes for lunch and dinner, such as
fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits. Pair your meal with one of the Boll
Weevil’s many wines or meads, or choose from the selection of over 70 beers.
The Boll Weevil sits near the river in a building that has belonged to the family
of owner, William Harrison, since 1919. Its history spans way back to its use as a
cotton warehouse from the 1870s, through to its current incarnation as a favorite
downtown destination. Fresh house-baked breads and desserts are truly the Boll
Weevil’s strengths, and the restaurant has been awarded “best of” titles by local
publications for over 20 years. Within a few feet of the Augusta Riverwalk Park
and Amphitheater, the Boll Weevil Café invites us all to treat ourselves.
