Augusta is known for a lot of things. The Masters, the great food, the southern hospitality, but the artwork is almost criminally underrated. Augusta has some of the best murals all across town for you and your friends to take some photos for your Instagram feed. Here are some places you should add to your list.
To start your journey, go downtown and visit the Southern Salad. Located at 1008 Broad Street, their mural can be found in the back in their outdoor area. Snap some shots with this beauty after you had your daily serving of greens.
Next up is Andy Jordan Bicycle Warehouse, which is located at 527 13th Street. It has a colorful “Love where you Live” mural on the side of their building that you cannot miss if you’re headed towards the medical district coming from Downtown. This would make the perfect background for some springtime pics.
The art goes beyond the downtown area. Sno Cap Drive-In, located at 618 West Ave North Augusta gives us all the retro diner vibes. Get dressed in your fave retro outfit and take a few shots with your disposable camera or use some fancy filters on your phone. Don’t forget to get a burger or two and a milkshake to wash it all down.
For an extra bonus, if you stop by Laziza’s or Vance’s Bakery Bar downtown, you’ll have the opportunity to take a photo with one of the newest murals in town. It’s dedicated to Augusta native James Brown and his accomplishments. It’s huge so you can show off your creative side for how you capture the best pic.
There are so many more places you can go take some pics with some amazing art. Use the #LittleGuideAugusta hashtag or tag @LittleGuideAugusta in your photos.
