Nassau Humane Society is committed to rescuing and rehoming homeless animals, providing shelter, compassionate care, and a second chance for a loving home. Since 2014, they’ve saved nearly 12,000 unwanted pets. Their mission extends beyond adoption—they educate the community on responsible pet ownership and work to reduce pet overpopulation.

Entirely community-funded, Nassau Humane Society depends on support from donors and volunteers. You can help by adopting one of the 150 cats and dogs they care for daily, shopping at their resale stores - The Closet Boutique and Second Chance - or donating pet food to assist local families in need. Dog owners can also enjoy their island’s only off-leash dog park.
