Established in 1994, Walton Options stands as
a leading advocate for disability empowerment
and inclusion, advocating for the independence
of individuals with disabilities, and serving
16 Georgia counties and 10 South Carolina
counties. Walton Options operates as a private, non-profit, non-residential Center for
Independent Living (CIL).
Beyond being a non-profit, Walton Options embodies resilience, empowerment,
and the quest for inclusivity. The mantra “Nothing about us without us” echoes in all
initiatives. Notably, the organization’s distinction lies in its commitment to being crossdisability, with over half the staff having significant disabilities, setting the example of
a driving force for diversity, opportunity, self-empowerment, and self-advocacy.
Walton Options is a celebration of diversity and opportunity, welcoming people of all
ages and abilities. Their community engagement extends beyond outreach to active
participation in government programs, events, forums, and more. The organization
seeks to challenge stereotypes and promote awareness that people with disabilities
are an integral part of the community, deserving the same options, respect, and
opportunities as everyone else.
